Nigerian reggae superstar Majek Fashek influenced generations with his music and swag. Since bursting unto the scene in 1988 after the release of his successful debut album, Prisoner of Conscience, there was no looking back.
Majek Fashek passed away on 1 June in New York according to his family. There has been an outpouring of emotions and tributes from fans and friends. Say what you like about the maestro, his contribution to Nigerian music can not be brushed aside. Majek will always be seen in the light of his genius that created a movement of consciousness and pride for Africans.
