Art4Life Lagos in partnership with Frontline Workers Appreciation eFest presents the third virtual monthly event for Covid-19 frontline workers, kicking off at 4pm Nigerian time (15:00 GMT) on Sunday, 30 August.
Disk jockeys and bands from all around the world are collaborating to appreciate the diligent workers of medical services, security forces, transport staff, social workers and others for the eFest.
Art4Life, headed by Aduke Gomez is an initiative that applies art to create a soft and compassionate environment to aid the process of healing for patients in health facilities. Frontline Workers Appreciation e-Fest (FWAe) is a collective of performing and visual artists around the world who have come together to support the Covid-19 frontline workers.
The event will be streamed on Zoom, YouTube, Facebook and other social network platforms to a global audience.
Abisoye Sanyaolu CEO of 9302 Productions, the organisers of the event said to eyesofalagosboy.com, “We see what the frontline workers are doing at these perilous times and we should show them our appreciation as a gesture to strengthen and encourage them through e-entertainment. At the height of Covid-19 people have suffered mental trauma, emotional difficulties as well as depression, family or relationship issues and the FWAe platform will assist to further fulfil the government’s promise to strengthen the state healthcare system.”
DJ Ray Bee Browne, Artistic Director 9302 Productions states that “A-list internationally ascribed bands from Africa, Australia, South America and Asia have been scheduled to perform in the monthly eFest and it will be musically explosive.”
Art4life is a Lagos state committee handling music therapy for the Lagos State. The Ministry of Health believes that this delivery of art will enhance art therapy to improve mental health and well being of citizens amidst this current pandemic which had shaken the world.
FWAe on Sunday August 30th is a whole day event and promises a super line-up of host DJs – Dj Oops, Dj Tade, Dj Link and Dj Ray Bee Browne.
Bands and guest DJs sets across the world are; Roforofo Jazz – France, Funmilayo Orchestra – Brazil, Ssue and The Ananse band – Ghana, Adina – Ghana, Lorraine Lionheart – UK, Dj Kulet –Nigeria, Dj Ms Orztn – Ghana, Dj Hard Hittin Harry – USA, KennyDa_Vinci – UK, Hyperrealism – UK, The Characters band – Ghana.
The new normal is gradually adapting to this type of artistic delivery. The maiden edition in June was headlined by Aduke and Aremo Gemini. followed by the July event tagged Lockdown/Curfew Frontline Appreciation Groove 2.
