Photo of the week: Watching and Waiting

Watching and Waiting – Eyes of a Lagos Boy – 2017

The fifth edition of Photo of the Week series by Eyes of a Lagos Boy shows a lone colorful double deck bench, on the beach facing the Atlantic Ocean.

Nigeria’s general election is only a few days away, the people are watching and waiting for the outcome of a rancorous campaign season that has seen a huge leap in the number of voters in the country. This is definitely good for democracy.

According to data released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)  last January, 93.46 million Nigerians are eligible to vote in the 2023 general election. This is an 11.26% increase from the 84 million eligible voters in the 2019 general election.

This photo depicts our state of mind as a people, currently. We must also remember to let the love between us continue after Saturday 25 February.
