Nigerian superstars, Rema, 2Baba and Cavemen are set to thrill fans this Easter holiday with the launch of Afrika Shrine.TV at the Ikeja venue.

Afrika Shrine is the legendary platform that birthed and nurtured a music genre now it is expanding its services into a global, live-streaming platform. The magic of Afrobeat is set to be taken to every nook and cranny of the world through this exciting venture.

The website afrikashrine.tv is a platform where all Afrobeat lovers can tap into and be part of these heavyweight performances and happenings at the Shrine, any time and from anywhere on the planet with just a click of the button.

The original Shrine – Kalakuta Republic was created in the early 1970s by the maestro, Fela Anikulapo Kuti.

Following Fela’s passing in 1997, his eldest children, Yeni and Femi, built the new entertainment arena in his honor. It started entertaining guests since 2000.

Yeni Kuti disclosed to eyesofalagosboy.com in a chat, “I’m happy about the Afrika Shrine TV, it means that the Shrine has gone to the next level – Live at the shrine. People will be watching all the activities going on, performances, birthday parties – its our reality TV and I am excited about it.” She added, enthusiastically, “We are no more analog, the Afrika Shrine is digital.”

The Mecca of Afrobeat

The New Afrika Shrine serves as the host location of the annual Felabration music festival which it is one of Nigeria’s major tourist attractions. From May 1, http://www.afrikashrine.tv will broadcast live, everything that takes place in the iconic, 2,500 capacity venue.

With a monthly payment of $5, subscribers have full access to the program packed with outstanding live performances from acts that include, Aramide, Chike, Falana, Discovery Night, Ayra Starr, Peruzzi, Femi Kuti, Seun Kuti, Made Kuti, and many more.

This transformation of the Shrine into a live-stream venue will cater to a full program of live events that features many of Nigeria’s most in-demand artists. In addition to the addictive sounds from the Shrine, there will be sprinkles of comedy, dance and drama.

All live-streamed performances are available for a further seven days.
