It was a night of massive glam and glitz, but beneath the shimmer was intention.
The IFFIZI Fashion Show at Bouygues Life Camp, Abuja, began promptly before 8pm. Long before the first model stepped out, the entrance was already alive with an impressive crowd, signaling that this was more than another fashion night. It was a moment many had come to witness.
IFFIZI has steadily built a reputation for designing clothes that honor strength, femininity, and individuality. Rooted in elegance but unafraid of boldness, the brand creates pieces that allow women to show up as they are — confident, beautiful, powerful, self-assured. As Sandra Alonge later affirmed, IFFIZI is for all women, regardless of age, size, or background.
The evening opened with the host, Mrs Danielle Fichter, alongside Mrs Susanne Koehler, who introduced Sandra Alonge to an audience of over 300 guests. In her address, Sandra spoke about IFFIZI’s vision: fashion not as costume, but as confidence — garments that move with the woman, not ahead of her. She also thanked Ashanti Gallery for the jewellery provided for the show and the encouraged the crowd to discover the art works by talented Nigerian female artists curated by Kike Oyewale.
Soon after, the runway came alive. Thirty striking models hit the catwalk to loud ovation, unveiling bold 2026 designs defined by audacious color combinations, clean construction, and commanding silhouettes. Each look felt deliberate, reinforcing IFFIZI’s design language — expressive, controlled, daring yet wearable.
A short break allowed the night to breathe. Musician, Oge Kimono, daughter of the legendary reggae icon Ras Kimono, took to the stage, her soulful performance adding warmth and rhythm, reminding the audience that culture, like fashion, is inherited and reinterpreted. The second half opened with the IFFIZI Valentine Capsule Collection, executed in carefully selected shades of red, in signature adire and ankara prints.
One of the evening’s highlights was the appearance by Danielle Becu, mother of IFFIZI’s Creative Director, who flew in from Belgium for the show. Each of her appearances was met with roaring joy from the audience — a moment that underlined what IFFIZI represents: continuity, support, and the celebration of women across generations.
After shows in London and Lagos, this first solo presentation in Abuja marked another deliberate step in IFFIZI’s journey. The brand is not chasing trends or moments. It is building identity, consistency, and presence. From now on, the IFFIZI showroom in Abuja will be opened from Thursday to Saturday (12 noon – 6:30 pm). One city, one woman, one confident stride at a time.
As the night moved toward its final moments, the runway dissolved into celebration. In a powerful closing gesture, a flash mob of over fifty people — models, IFFIZI ladies and the IFFIZI team — flooded the catwalk. What followed was not choreography but freedom: bodies gyrating, laughing, moving instinctively to a rich, cross-continental music selection.
The sounds of Fela Anikulapo Kuti ‘Shakara‘, Orlando Julius ‘Disco Highlife‘ and Oby Onyioha’s 1981 disco hit, ‘Enjoy Your life’ merged effortlessly with Brazilian disco energy — Rabo de Saia’s ‘Ripa Na Xulipa‘ — collapsing borders and generations in a single rhythm. Fashion gave way to movement. Structure gave way to joy.
It was the clearest statement of the night.
IFFIZI is not only worn — it is lived.
And in that final eruption of music, color, and motion, Abuja did not just watch IFFIZI.
It danced with it.
