Open call: ICONIC ABUJA Art Exhibition

Zuma Rock - Eyes of a Lagos Boy 2025
Zuma Rock – Eyes of a Lagos Boy 2025
Open call for artists to showcase their ICONIC ABUJA.

ICONIC ABUJA celebrates everyday life in Nigeria’s capital — honoring its people, landscapes, architecture, and cultural rhythm while exploring what makes the city distinctive.

Global audiences easily recognize the visual identities of cities such as Cairo or London. Abuja’s narrative is still evolving. ICONIC ABUJA contributes to placing Nigeria’s capital firmly within the global cultural imagination — celebrating its beauty, complexity, and humanity through an artistic lens.

Following the success of Iconic Lagos, Eyes of a Lagos Boy now turns to Nigeria’s capital. For this edition, the project welcomes German photographer Katharina Sasse as a collaborating artist.

Supported by the German Embassy Abuja, artists are invited to submit photography, painting, and mixed-media works by 22 March 2026.

Selected works will be exhibited at Thought Pyramid Art Centre, Abuja, from 18–27 April 2026, in partnership with the German Embassy.
